Boxcar Books, the best little book store in a boxcar
Howdy! Boxcar Books is the passion project of Link Harjung, a long time book and boxcar enthusiast. Ever since riding the rails as a young punk, he dreamed of having a boxcar to call his own and fill with books. Link and his partner Sofia run Boxcar Books on the weekends, and find books to fill it when they're not doing their other jobs (making firewood and sewing clothes, respectively), or busy with their homestead, kiddo or pups.
We opened our doors in the summer of 2019, after years of traveling and collecting books. Space is at a premium, so our selection is well curated. There's a nice breeze in the summer, and a toasty potbellied stove to warm up by in the winter. We carry mostly used books, some vintage clothes, and little pieces of ancient bugs frozen in amber, among other curios. Stop by some time and say hi!
